How to dispose of green waste at Wilson Sand

Check in and pay

When you arrive at our Matamata green waste site, stop at the office first.

Sign the log book and pay for your load before entering the dump area.

Dump your green waste

Drive down to the green waste disposal area and empty your load.

Flax and cabbage tree leaves must be placed in the separate pile.

You're good to go

Once you’ve finished unloading, you’re free to leave.

Sorted clean loads allow us to minimise waste by ensuring everything can be recycled or reused. Mixed waste loads that are unsorted or cross contaminated are subject to waste minimisation levies from the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment

No Toxic Materials

We mulch the green waste to be spread on to farmland, so please be sure your green waste is sorted and free from any contaminants

Scanning via Loadscan®

Commercial and bulk loads via truck are scanned via our volumetric scanner. We proudly use Loadscan®, manufactured locally in Hamilton, NZ.
